Expedited Freight
Excepting smaller shipments, ocean freight has always been cheaper than air freight, but also much slower and much more prone to delays – mostly bad weather and port congestion. But, in recent years, ocean freight shipping has become more reliable and quicker. This makes LCL an attractive alternative for some air freight shipments. Some ocean carriers have looked to make ocean shipments quicker still by offering a premium service, generally referred to as expedited freight, which streamlines processes and only ties in with faster ocean and trucking services.
