Former DB Schenker Executive Joins Freightos

To Back Industry Move to Online Freight Sales and Booking

Freightos, the innovative logistics startup bringing freight sales and booking online for freight forwarders, shippers and ecommerce retailers, is delighted to announce that Dr. Philip Blumenthal, formerly of DB Schenker, has joined the Freightos team.

Blumenthal will build on Freightos’ established global success by expanding online freight automation across forwarders and shippers.

In a little over three years, Freightos has helped automate over 2.5 million freight quotes for leading freight forwarders. Philip’s intimate acquaintance with the freight shipping world, combined with his seasoned management skills, will help realize Freightos’ vision of connecting the freight world online.

Blumenthal has held a variety of roles at DB Schenker in both Germany and the United States, lastly being responsible for the New York Market. In his PhD thesis he developed a product to secure ocean freight rates with financial derivatives.
