America’s supply chains via the East Coast and Gulf ports were shut down for only three days to start the month due to the ILA strike, but the backlog of containers and vessels will take some time to unwind. The strike also pushed some shippers to air cargo, where rates are already elevated and capacity tight on still-surging e-commerce demand. And these trends are likely to intensify as air cargo enters its peak season months.
