One of the biggest missteps people make when first entering the world of manufacturing is not knowing their product. Nathan Resnick, CEO and Co-Founder of Sourcify, discusses how to get your product specifications right the first time so that you don’t end up paying to fix a mistake later.
“There’s a lot of back and forth between buyers and factory reps because these buyers don’t necessarily know the specifications of the product that they want, like a zipper. There’s a thousand different zipper options out there, well, which one do you want?”
Whether you want to produce clothing or clocks, having a precise knowledge of every measurement and component is essential. You can tell a good manufacturer from a bad one by the level of specifications they request, too. If they seem disinterested in perfectly replicating your product, they probably won’t do a very good job.
